Prescott Here We Come!!!

So When we saw all the snow coming we had to get out of town and go play. We headed up north to Prescott. It was so crazy because when we were driving by Jason's Parents house it started to snow and when we hit sunset point we started to get a little worried because it was snowing so hard we couldn't see past a few feet in front of us. I wondered if we would get stuck when we got there. But we kept going. We had to stop at a Walmart when we got to town because living in the valley we don't own boots or snow shoes so we had to get some. When we tried to park, the snow was so high we almost got stuck. After we came out, we saw the best hill ever to play on. So needless to say, we were dorks and went over to play on the big hill in front of the walmart parking lot. But I guess it was better than getting stuck on a mountain road.

Callie was so funny because she stood in this spot for 15 min and just ate the snow. She didn't want to ride or play. She just wanted to eat it!


And this is the fit afterward because her hands were freezing! She was done after that and just wanted to sit in the car and get warm.

This was a butt sled that Kolsen absolutely LOVED. He strapped it on and went up and down up and down. He had so much fun! The giggles when he would come down were the best!

Now it is daddy's turn to eat the snow!

This is how cold it was. If you know me at all you know that I do not do the cold very well but this was so much fun. We haven't done a trip like that is a while and it was so good for our family to have fun and get a way for a day. After playing we got changed and went out to lunch and headed back home.



One more funny story: So because we are still potty training Callie, we decided to put her back in a diaper for the day because we knew we would not be near a bathroom. She was not happy with us but she finally gave in. So when we were in the car on the way home. Callie started yelling (With a very upset panicked voice) "Mom I think I am peeing in the car!!!" She forgot she had a diaper on and thought she was going in her pants. It was so funny the way she said it and you could see the terror in her eyes. It gave Jason and I a good laugh all the way home.

Pumpkin Patch

I know I am late but better late than never. In November we took our kids went with our friends to a pumpkin patch in Mesa. It was so much fun and there was so much to do. Here are some pitcures from our adventure!

Kolsen's Preschool Christmas Program

Kolsen had his first Christmas Program last week. He did such a good job and it was so much fun to see all the sweet kids sing for their parents. My favorite song was jingle bells, because they were all given a set of bells to shake and they were so focused on those that the song was all over the place. It was the cutest one by far!! I am so proud of him and what a smart little boy he is. He bring us so much joy and I can't believe how fast he is growing up.

Our Little Peanut!!!

So Here is our newest little one and here is how we got her.

So Yesterday Jason had the day off and we decided to go get some grocery's. We went to Albertson's and were shopping around when one of the workers walked by and kind of watched us for a few min. Then he came up to us and asked us if we wanted a free puppy. If you know me, you know that I have not wanted to get a dog for a while and had no plans to do so. But then he said that is was a "Yorkshire Terrier and Poodle mix". My mouth dropped to the floor and my heart jumped. That is the exact dog that I have wanted my whole life. I love yorky's and poodle gives it a good chance not to shed. Plus they are tiny and cute! He told us that his dog had puppies a few months earlier and he sold all of them but this one came back to him because the family couldn't take care of her. He was really attached to her and instead of selling her he wanted her to go to a good family and when he walked by us, the thought popped in his head to ask us. So we told him we would think about it and meet him back at the store at 12:00 to look at her. We went back and forth for awhile and decided to go take a look. Well, as you figured I fell in love with her when I saw her. She was so sweet and friendly and was the perfect size. She wasn't so small that the kids will walk around with her, but she was small enough for me. So we took her home.

She has been so much fun and she is such a mellow little thing. She is very cuddly and loves to have her tummy scratched. The best part is that she is already house trained and is past the puppy biting phase. I think she will be the perfect fit for us. Plus Jason is in LOVE with her too. He snuggled her all day yesterday. So I guess I killed two birds with one stone. I got my cute little puppy and I cured my baby hunger a little longer.

Kolsen's Surgery

*** Warning *** Long post below!! I use this as a journal so I wanted to document it all ***

It has finally come. Kolsen has been having some problems sleeping at night and has been breathing funny lately so we thought we would have him looked at by an Ear Nose and Throat. The doctor took one look in his mouth and said "Yep!! Those have to come out. They take up 80% of his airways." I knew they were big but I had no idea they were that big. So we decided to go ahead and get them taken out. It was really scary for me to even think about my little guy having a procedure like that done but I knew it was the best thing for him.

So Yesterday was the big day. We went in at 6:15am and they took us back to the room at about 6:45. I was really really nervous because Jason couldn't come and knew I would have to send my baby off with a total stranger all by myself. When they took us back to the room I said a little prayer that I would be OK in front of Kolsen so I wouldn't scare him. When the nurse walked in I knew Heavenly Father had answered my prayer! The nurse was one of my old neighbors who we were good friends with. I totally lost it when I saw her and knew that everything would be OK. The best part about it was that after I got Kolsen dressed in his gown I gave him a hug and he walked away with someone he knew and wasn't scared at all. I am so grateful for that blessing and I will never forget the kindness of my Father in Heaven!!! The nice part also was that Alan and Debbie were in the waiting room with me so I had someone to keep my mind off things and I have a wonderful Mom who took Callie the night before and that day so I could take care of Kolsen without any other distractions. I am so grateful to them for all their love and support.

So about 25 min went by and the doctor came out and said that everything went great. Then 15 min later the nurse came out and said that we could go see him. As we were walking back she was telling us that they don't normally bring the parents back that fast but Kolsen was up and wanting all the nurses to hold him and was doing great so they thought I should be there. She told me that I was lucky to have such a sweet little boy and that she could tell that he was a good kid. She also said that most kids his age have to be put on oxygen when they come out to help them breathe because of the sedation, but all his vital signs were great and he was doing everything that they asked him to do. We had to wait there and be monitored for about 40 min and until he finished his IV bag. Then when that was done the nurse went to take it out and he started getting a little nervous. So she stopped and said "Her let me do this first." She took Shamu (Kolsen doesn't go any where without this )and wrapped his arm up with tape and told Kolsen that he needed one to match. So he stuck out his arm and let her take it out and have a bandage just like his Shamu. They were so good with him!! Everyone there was so good with kids and it was such a good experience for all of us.

Kolsen did great that day. He was still pretty groggy but we had to stop at Walgreen's to fill his prescriptions so he got to pick out his very own ice cream and movie from the red box. He thought that was the best thing ever. Then we went home and he watched movies all day with some visitors throughout the day. Today has not been as good. He woke up in a lot of pain and for a while wouldn't even swallow his spit. He would just sit with it in his mouth until it would come out and I would wipe it. I felt so bad for him but after the medicine I couldn't do much. He has been so good through it all and I am so lucky to have such an awesome little boy. I am also so blessed to have a husband and family members who hold the priesthood so that when things like this come up they are able to give us all blessings so we can have the help of our Father in Heaven. I KNOW that is why he did so well and how I got through it better than I thought I would. I am so grateful for all that I have in my life and so grateful that I have two families that give us so much love and support. Thank you to all of those who kept us in your prayers and helped us get through. We love you and appreciate it!

Maci's Baptism

Last weekend we got to go up to Hurricane Utah for Maci's baptism. We had a blast with all of the family and friends that were there. It is a beautiful little town with lots of character and fun things to do. Thanks Mandile's for such a fun trip!!!


I was so proud of all the boys. They played with this geo tracks set the whole time we were up there and I don't think we had one fight. They all played so good together and ran around like crazy boys do!!

After several hours of running non stop we tried to get the boys to sit down and watch a movie. Ha Ha I think it lasted about 5 min so we could take a picture and then they were up and going again.

They have a beautiful beach just a few min from there house and the cool thing about it is..it has Red sandy beaches. It was so pretty and the kids had so much fun filling up buckets and dumping them out again.
I don't think Callie moved from this spot the whole day!






After a day at the beach they all got baths and these two sat down on the bed to watch a movie. These are our blanket babies!!



You know you are in a small town when... You see a horse and buggy go trotting by and they let your kids ride.


This is a beautiful tree in front of their grandma's house. All the kids who come have to take a picture in it. The funny part was Callie was so excited to get up in it and would have stayed up there for days, but Kolsen was terrified and needed a lot of coaxing to even get him up there.
