THE STORE IS NOW AN ADVENTURE!!!

Well, I had my first two kid shopping trip. It was quite the experience! I took Kolsen and Callie to Fry's a few days ago all by myself and they didn't have any of those CAR shopping carts so I had to use a regular one. Which meant that Callie sat in front with her car seat and I had to put Kolsen in the back with all of our groceries. Kolsen has never sat in the back before so he was very excited. A little too excited because by the time we were done every box we had was opened, we had spilled half a bottle of Windex on the floor, the package of hot dogs had several bite marks on them, and I had to load the groceries in the cart myself after they were bagged because the girl didn't want to put them next to him. It was very interesting and we will definitely be teaching him how to either walk along side the cart or that he needs to help me load and unload so he has something to do. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated!! I don't know how people with more kids do it! He is such a good little boy and I know it could have been much worse so I guess I shouldn't complain too much! KIDS MAKE LIFE SO MUCH FUN!!!

My Beautiful Baby Girl!!!

Rachel has really become interested in photography these last few months and just got a really nice camera from my parents so I thought it would be fun for her to take some pictures of Callie. She did such a good job and I wanted to show them off, so here are some of the amazing pictures she took. I am bored so I thought I would share a little bit about our extended hospital stay and some exciting things that happened. It all started on Monday March 24Th. I went in for my regular check up and decided to bring Kolsen since my parents went out of town. I had been having some contractions so I decided that I should tell the doctor. They weren't hard or anything so I wasn't worried. He asked if he should check me and I said sure, just to be safe. I thought I was dilated but when I saw the look of Horror on his face when he did, it really scarred me. He said that I was about a 4-5 and my water was about to break. He told me that I had to go to the hospital right away and find someone to take Koslen. I called Jason to let him know (totally freaked out at this point) and he was only 10 min. away. Which is a miracle because he normally works 1 hr away. So he came right down and then Holly heard what was happening and she was on her way to a store and was only a few min away from the hospital too, so she came and got Kolsen for us. I am so glad that she was so close!!! Anyway, they got me in a bed and started me on several medications, IVs, and gave me a steroid shot in the bum. I don't know who has had one of those, but they are not fun at all. The next few days were full of pokes and IV fluid because a few hours after I had taken the oral medication it would wear off the my contractions would start up again so they would have to give me a tributiline shot in the arm every 15 min until they slowed down again. I think overall I had over 50 shots in my arms. They were pretty small so it wasn't to bad. While this all was going on the only thing I could do was get up to go to the bathroom. They did not let me stand, sit up, or shower for 4 days because they wanted me to hit my 34 1/2 mark and wanted the steroid shots to take effect. After that I was still on bed rest, but I could be up for a few min. to shower and clean up a little then it was back to bed. It sounds good to be in bed for 2 weeks, but let me tell you it was no picnic. You start to go crazy! It is sad when the highlight of my day was to take a wheel chair ride down the hall and back! Then my doctor wanted to put me on a tributiline pump. It is a pump that goes into your leg and gives you automatic doses every few hours. This worked really good and it slowed the contractions way down. The only bad part was that I had to put it in myself. Out of all the things I had to do in the hospital, this was the hardest for me. I don't know why, but the thought of stabbing MYSELF with a needle was much worse than a trained professional doing it. It took a while for me to work up the courage to do it but when I finally did, I was so proud of myself.

Here is a picture of the pump in my leg. After that things slowed way down and it was just a waiting game. Finally on Thursday April 3rd my doctor took me off all the medicine because I was 36 weeks, to see what would happen. Nothing happened that day which made me really depressed, but the next day it started to pick up again. The doctor came in at about 3:00 and broke my water. About an hour later I was at a eight and the nurse thought I had about an hour left so she told me to take a nap and told Jason, my mom, and Debbie to go for a walk and get something to eat. After they left, about 5 min. later the nurse came in and said that the baby's heart rate was dropping and they needed to get me on oxygen. She said she wanted to check me first to see if anything had happened and when she did, she said that I needed to hurry and call everyone back because the baby was coming. I got on the phone and she called the doctor and when everyone got back in the room the baby was already crowning. The doctor hurried and got dressed and they didn't even have time to get the bed ready. It took 1 and 1/2 pushes and she was out. It went so fast it was kind of a blur. She was born 1 hour after he broke my water at 4:28 on Friday April 4Th. One day before my birthday. I just think she wanted her own special day and didn't want to share with her mom. She was beautiful (after they cleaned her up) and she was healthy and a good weight. I am so grateful for all the love and support from our family and friends while we went through this. Because of all of the help we received, Callie stayed in there long enough to be as healthy as could be. Well, enough of my long story. Thanks again to everyone!!!

WE HAVE IDENTICAL BABIES!!!

OK, so we took a picture of Callie today because she had just gotten a bath and her hair was sticking up really cute. As we were looking at it I thought it looked really familiar, so I looked through Kolsen's baby pictures and found this. I am so amazed at how much they look a like. I don't think you could tell them apart except that Callie has a pink Blanket. CRAZY!!! We are going to be one of those families that the kids all look the same. It is those strong DAVIS genes!!! Which is a very good thing. I just hope some Richardson genes come through at some point in our kids.

Where do I begin???

Well, this post is going to be short because I have done way to much already today, but I wanted to post a few pictures and say thank you to everyone who came to visit or called to let us know they cared. I couldn't have gotten through these past few weeks without all of the support and love from our family and friends. Thank you!!!

Callie is doing good and Kolsen has been such a good brother. It is so amazing to watch them together and to see our family growing. Kids are the most precious gift of all.

I am also so thankful that I have such an amazing husband. Jason has been so wonderful through all of this and it is such a big relief to know that even though I wasn't home to take care of things that needed to get done, he was on top of everything. He was also very patient and caring with me in the hospital and all that I had to go through. I love you Jason and thank my Heavenly Father every day that he let you come into my life and share this journey with me here and Forever. Here are some pictures and I will go into detail of our eventful few weeks in a few days when things here have settled down.

Hey everyone it's Jessica again! Sorry for not updating but poor Natalie has been in the hospital since last Monday! And everything was a day to day thing! But I will let her tell you all more about that!

She is HERE!!
Callie Davis
arrived at 4:28pm
on Friday April 4th
she weighs 6lbs 5oz
and is 19 in long!

Both her and Mom are healthy and doing good!! I just wanted to let you all know so you can stop worrying about them!! I know Natalie will update everyone and have LOTS of pictures to share!! She sent me one on my phone because I'm in Maryland right now so I won't get to see her until I get home and she looks like Kolsen, which is what Brian said too. So for right now this is all you get until Natalie gets home!
Not the best but what can I do from so far away!!
Stay tuned for Natalie to start updating again! She's going to LOVE having the internet back!! And I'm sure a lot of other things we all take for granted!!
