Deciding whether or not to go

These two thought it was a pool but when they got out they couldn't feel anything.

When we were coming up to the door after we finished, we saw Kolsen's pants down around his ankles because they were so soaked. He said "I don't want to pull them up anymore."  It was pretty funny!!

Our Funny but not so Funny story!!!

So the day that the Guys went back to New York to get their suits all of us girls were stuck home with the kids all day long. So later that night we met them at a really good pizza place for dinner and the guys took the kids home and we went out to a mall to do some more shopping. Little did we know it would be a huge adventure. We went to the mall and had a blast in the few stores we went in. We got there at about 8:00 and it closed at 9:30 so we didn't have much time. We did our shopping until it closed. Then we left the mall and went running to our car because it was only 10 degrees outside and I am a BABY when it comes to being cold. I have never been that cold in my life. We got in the car and were so glad to be out of that weather and Holly went to start the car. It didn't start. You have to be kidding me right. That is what we all were thinking. So now we are thinking: the mall was closing, it was colder than ever, and Holly's house was about an hour away so there wasn't any way the guys could help us. So I asked holly if she had jumper cables and we got out to see what we could do. Holly and I stayed with the car and started to set up the cables and Debbie and Kim ran in to try to find someone to help. They found a young couple with a truck who came over to help. I had everything set up and ready to jump when we realized that this guy didn't know how to open his hood. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! How do you not know how to open your hood??? We tried for about 10 min and finally gave up on him and about that time the car next to us turned on and we saw that owners walking up. We asked them for help and the guy said "Sure, but I don't think my car can jump yours." I said “it shouldn't be a problem. I have the cables ready and can do it, if you can pop your hood.” The guy said again "No I don't think my car can do that.” So he opened his hood and there was some kind of cover bolted down to the whole thing so we couldn't get to the battery. So he said sorry and left. So now, we have been outside in 10 degree weather for about 20 min, I can't feel my fingers, none of us have gloves, hats or scarf's because we were going to be in a mall and didn't think we would need them, my ears are as hard as rocks and I am thinking they are going to fall off any time now and I can't stop laughing because we have had two people stop to help us now and they were both of no use!! So Debbie and Kim ran inside again to go find a mall security guard to help us. As they were running in a girl about our age comes over and says she will jump us and pulls over. She tries too, but the cables keep falling off because they are too short and they have this weird piece on them that is not fitting on her car. About 5 min later the Security guy shows up and he helps us get it going. We get back in the car and can't move because we are frozen and have to drive an hour to get home. Let’s just say that this is a shopping trip we will never forget. I think we laughed the whole way home! I will never complain about being cold again!

Shopping in New York

On one of the day's, Alan and Debbie were so sweet and they watched all of the kids while all of the adults went shopping in New York.  It was so much fun!  We got to see so many different sights and Jason and I got to ride in our first cab and it was my first time on a subway. It wan't as bad as I thought it would be. The only down side was, it was freezing. I mean literally. I think the high that day was 23 but it was windy so it was even colder than that. Although, it was fun to bundle and get to use cute scarf's and gloves.  We never get to do that at home.

Here is the New York City skyline.  It was beautiful!

This is Jason and I in front of the Manhattan Temple.  I never would have known it was a temple except for Moroni on top.  It is in the middle of down town and looks like all the other buildings.  Holly and Craig were telling us that it is hard for most people to go to the temple over there because it costs about $150 to make the trip.  The babysitters over there charge $10 an hour and it takes about 3 hours there, 3 hours at the temple and 3 hours back. so that alone is $90 and then to park in the parking lot and take a cab it is about $50.  I thought that was so crazy and it makes me so much more grateful for the Mesa Temple being so close.

Here is the famous Rockefeller center tree.  It was huge, but I was a little disappointed with it.  The only decorations it had on it were lights and the tree itself was pretty ugly and wilted.  It does look pretty in this picture though.

Here are some of the things I bought in china town.  We found some great deals on all of this stuff. Especially my REAL Coach purse.  We didn't find one the day I went, but the Guys went back the next day to get some suits and while they were waiting for them to be tailored they went back to china town.  When they were in a stores some girls came in and asked to see the coach purses. She pointed to the wall of them and they said "No I want a real one."  The lady looked around and had a man stand outside the shop and went to a locked cabinet and pulled a few out of a drawer.  Jason saw all of this and knew that I would love this one so he bought it for me for dirt cheap. What a good husband!  The one below is a Prada bag and I got a Prada wallet also.  Soooo Cute!!!  Thank you so much Alan and Debbie for such a fun day and an awesome trip!!! We can't thank you enough!

The Please Touch Museum

On our last day we went to the "Please Touch Museum".  It was a lot of fun and the kids had a blast.  There were all kinds of fun things to do and play with. I didn't get very many pictures because I was too busy playing, but here are some I did remember to get.

This was Kolsen's favorite room.  It was covered in these foam pieces that you put together to make a plane. Then you go over to a pulley and hook your creation to it.  Then you crank a handle until it gets to the top of the room and then it throws it off and you get to watch it fall to the ground. It was pretty fun and he loved it. Here are their creations.

Here we are at the Alice in Wonderland play area.  There was a tree the size of the building to make you feel tiny.  It worked and it was beautiful.  I should have taken pictures of the decorations but I was having too much fun and forgot.

The last adventure of the day was a carousel ride with all of the kids. Kolsen loved it and so did callie for about a minute and then she grabbed my neck and wouldn't let go.  But when I asked her if she liked it she said "YES"

After this fun place we went to go eat at the world Famous Philly Cheese steak place where it all started.  It was an ok sandwich but it was kind of hard to enjoy because it was even colder than our day in New York and the restaurant didn't have any inside seating. So we had to eat it out in the freezing cold.  It was so cold that all of the kids were complaining and if you took your gloves off to eat, your hands would burn from the wind. After that we wanted to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.  The sad part was when we got there it was closing so we didn't get to see much.  But I am sure we will be going back and will catch that next time. 

New Jersey Here we come!

This year for Christmas we got to travel to New Jersey to see our family. We had a blast with everyone and doing some sightseeing.  Here are some pictures from our trip.

These Jelly Fish were amazing!! There was a huge tank of them!  Jason got a video that I will try to put up. They were so cool.

This hippo was so funny!  He would come right to the glass and jump up and stick his nose out of the water and then dive back down to look at all the kids.  He did this more times than I could count.
