Camping

I haven't posted I a while so I better catch everything up before I get in trouble! We had a great time at our family reunion a few weeks ago. We go camping every year up in Pine. Kolsen loved to run around and get really dirty and had a blast with Chase and Mallory. Also, Jason and Alan had a blast beating everyone in the annual Horse shoe tournament! They won first place and the bragging rights that go with it. The only down side was that Callie is a hard baby to begin with and to take her to a place where you can't put her down was pretty tough. I had to hold her the whole time and she threw up all over everyone, so I could have done without that part. But overall it was a good trip. I just can't wait until the kids are a little older and you don't have to watch them every second and they can play on there own. Then it will be awesome.

Naps are GREAT!
He thought he was so sneaky!

Our cousins brought these toys up and the kids had so much fun riding them!!!

There's some RICHARDSON in her!

I actually got some genes in this one! My mom sent me this picture the other day and it looks so much like callie. It is hard to capture it in a picture, but some of the faces she makes look just like this picture. The one big difference is hair. I have double what she has. It is fun to see yourself in your little child. I never got that with Kolsen because he is all Daddy. The other pictures are just some cute ones of her smiling.

There is MUD today.... So the BOYS will play...

We had a beautiful weekend full of RAIN and because of that our backyard is now a huge puddle. It has gone down a lot, but there were still some big ones out there this morning. Which means Kolsen is in heaven. The first thing he did when he got up today was run straight outside and start jumping. He and Bode loved it and played for a long time. Boys will be Boys I guess! The funny thing was they started in the grass because when they ran it would splash behind them and they would laugh. Then Kolsen spotted a big puddle in the rocks. So with no shoes or pants they ran over and started jumping in it. They must have a high pain tolerance or just don't care because I tried to get them to come back to the soft grass but they liked the rocky puddle better.

Just a little update

I haven't posted in a while so I figured I would give you a little update on each of us.

Callie
She is doing good now, but things had to get worse before they got better. We switched her to a SOY formula to see if it would help and for the first week it worked good. Then she was horrible again and was constipated all the time which made everything that we tried ineffective. She was in so much pain because she wasn't going to the bathroom. So now she is back on regular formula and we have put her on Zantac, which is for acid reflux. It has worked wonders and she is so much happier now. Every time you talk to her she smile's and coos at you. I have tried to get a picture of it but I keep missing it. This is the closest I have come but it is a little blurry. I am so grateful that she feels better now and we can just enjoy holding her.

Kolsen
What can I say about my little man. For starters, we tried potty training a few weeks ago. TRIED being the key word. After a bath one day he was running around naked before I could catch him and I said "Lets put a diaper on so we don't pee on the floor" and he said "NO" So I asked if he would go on the potty and he said "Yeah potty!!!" So we went in and sat down and he actually went pee. I was so shocked and excited so we got out his little bug seat and put it on the toilet and I decided we would give it a try. He did good all morning and went several times. I was taking his pants off so much that I just let him run around in a diaper which was a bad idea. In the afternoon he came to me and said "I poop" and I looked down to see that he had his diaper off and there was poop on his bum and down the hall. So we cleaned it up and it all went down hill from there. Callie had a really bad next few days (this was during the constipation) and I was not handling things very well so we decided that until we got Callie under control and I had more patience we would wait. He probably would have done it if I was persistent because I think he is ready, but I want it to be a good experience and it is to hard with a really fussy newborn. So we will try again in a few months. Other than that he is doing really good. He is talking a lot better and is at such a fun age. Except for the tantrums but I guess that comes with a 2 years old. The picture I posted is how we find him every time he takes a nap. He loves to get buried in everything. I can't believe he doesn't wake up drenched in sweat.

Jason and Natalie
My wonderful husband is a Mexican now! I need to get a picture of him, but he hates pictures. He recently started to do yard jobs for his dad's company so he is out in the sun all day long. He has some major tan lines!!! It is pretty funny. I have been helping him out the past few days and don't know how he stands it. It is so hot and very hard work, but I think I lost five pounds so I guess it isn't all bad. I have to thank my family too because I couldn't do anything without there help watching our kids. Thanks mom and Rachel!!! You don't know how much we appreciate it!!!
I have also started working. We had to figure something out because Jason is starting school next week and we will be dirt poor for the next two years. So I have started working for the company too. My mom and I are doing FRESHEN UPS. That is where you go to all the vacant homes and do several things to make sure the home is in good shape to show potential buyers. It is pretty fun and it will hopefully help with the bills. Well, that's all that is new with us. We are just keeping busy with callings, school, jobs, and kids. But we are loving life and wouldn't change a thing. Except how much school is going to cost!

Picture Overload!!!!

We have a new member in our family so we decided to update our family pictures. Rachel took them this weekend and she did such a good job! Here are some but there are so many more good ones! It was so hard to choose. It was a little crazy to catch Kolsen because there were ducks and birds that he wanted to chase, but candy was a great bribery! Thanks Rachel!!! You did awesome!!!

Summer fun

Kolsen and Bode have had so much fun together. They play so good and get along very well. We bought this so they could play outside and not get heat stroke. Bode loved it from the get go, but Kolsen had to warm up to it. Once we turned it down and he could grab it and shoot Bode he loved it.

And this is the result of waking up at the crack of dawn when the sun comes up and playing hard all morning. I think it is so funny how fast he falls back asleep when Jason wakes him up!

Callie's Blessing

Callie's Blessing was so beautiful on Sunday. She did a great job and just sat there awake and still for the whole thing. Which is a blessing from Heavenly Father because she never does that. My dad said that when the blessing started one little arm went out to the side, then the other and then she was totally relaxed. I am so thankful for my husband who holds the priesthood and is a strong worthy member of the church. I am so glad that he could bless our sweet little girl and it was so neat to see our brothers, Dads, grandparents, and friends stand around her and bless her will all the blessings from heaven. I am so thankful for the gospel in my life!!! It was sweet and special day and I am so glad that all of our family was there to share it with us.

My Blessing is a Trial

As I was going through the blogs today I noticed a pattern of posts. "TRIALS" Everyone seems to have something going on in their life right now that has causes them to reflect a little on life. Such as: Why we are here, What we can do to be better, and how Heavenly Father knows what to do to make us stronger. Even though, as we go through it we may not understand why we need it. I am also going through that right now. One of the biggest blessings in my life is my kids. They have brought me so much joy and have changed our lives in so many wonderful ways. The newest addition however, has challenged us more than I thought she would. I love Callie with all my heart and am so glad that she is in our family and I know she was sent to us for a reason. We have had some great moments with her and some very hard ones. I don't know how many people have had a baby that cries a lot, but if you have you can relate to me. Callie has Colic very bad. Which just meas that know one knows why she cries. It is at some points in the day non stop for hours and nothing I do changes it. It is not only hard for me, but you can tell that it is affecting Kolsen too. It has to be hard for a little person to not know why this new baby is always screaming. I think the hardest part for me right now is that no matter what I do I can't help. That is one of the worst feeling for a mom to have. To know that she can not comfort her child. It is also hard because when she is like this it is so hard to bond with her the way I did with Kolsen. He was an angel baby and the only trial with him was spit up. Which I thought was a big trial until now. I love her unconditionally and I know there is something I need to learn from this so I just have to be patient with her and I know she will grow out of it or I will learn what I need from her.

Anyway, I also know that Heavenly Father knows me and what I need, more than I do. I had a really neat experience Friday night and Saturday. I am in the primary presidency in our ward and I got a call from our Primary president at 9:00 at night saying that she couldn't be at the stake baptisms the next morning and asked if I could go. I didn't have anything going so I told her I could and thought nothing of it. Then we went to bed. I can honestly say that last night was the worst night we have EVER had with kids. After going to bed at 11:00, Callie was up screaming from 12:00pm-5:00am, and there was nothing that Jason or I did that would help. If she did fall asleep she would wake up in 3 min screaming again, Kolsen was up and down because she was so loud, and I have not been sleeping very well so I was not handling things good at all. Anyways, when Kolsen got up at 6:00 we were all up for good and started our day. Then I went to the baptisms. The spirit was so strong there and I know that Heavenly Father knew that I would need that after the night I was going to have and I can't tell you how much more emotionally stable I am now that the spirit has been so strong all day. I love my heavenly Father and I KNOW that he knows me and what I need. I LOVE my children and am so thankful that I have been blessed with them. I know there are others struggling with their specific trials and it is comforting to know that we are not alone in what we are going through. It is also interesting that everyone had such different needs and then get met through some challenging situations. I am also thankful to our friends and family who offer to take our little ones so we can get a break and are so sensitive to the spirit to know when to help without me having to ask. I am really bad at asking for help because I don't want to feel like a burden to anyone. Thank you and please know that even the small and simple gestures are so appreciated!!!!

Callie's Shower, Camping, and Mother's Day

Callie's Shower

We were finally able to have a baby shower for Callie this weekend. It was a lot of fun and I am so thankful for all those who could come. I think Callie has so many clothes that she could wear a different outfit every day until she is 2. We got so many cute outfits at the shower and we have been given so many clothes of all sizes by friends and family that have saved us so much money it is crazy. Which is good because we are losing so much to pay for Jason' school right now. Thank you again to all those who came and enjoyed a nice day with us.

Camping
While we were at the shower the boys went camping at Father and Sons. They had a lot of fun and filled the kids with all kinds of junk and because they are men we got absolutely no pictures of the whole trip. They drive me crazy sometimes! I am glad that they had fun!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my mom and Debbie and all the wonderful mom's out there! I think I have the best mom's in the world and I am so thankful for all that they do for us and our family's. They are amazing, strong, righteous women who I look to for everything. They are such a great example of what a perfect mom should be and I hope I can raise my kids as good as they raised us. Thank you and we love you and are proud to be your kids!

I do have to brag about my hubby for a minuet and he would be totally embarrassed if he found out that I posted this, but o well! We had a really long night with Callie and didn't get much sleep, so when it came time to get up with Kolsen Jason jumped out of bed and told me that I could sleep in and he would take care of everyone. I know that is something small and it doesn't sound like a big deal, but that was the best gift he could have given me that day. Then when I woke up he brought me a vase filled with all the different flowers from our yard that him and Kolsen had picked. It was so cute and the flowers looked so gorgeous in the vase he had. It was so sweet and meant so much more than any store bought flowers would have!!! Then through out the day he was still very sweet and made it such a special day for me. I love Jason so much and am so thankful everyday that I have him by my side!!! I love you JASE!

Here are some Mother's Day pictures of the kiddo's. Kolsen hiding from the camera. Cool picture Rachel!

My little girl awake and happy. This is a rare occurrence, but a cherished one!!! She is like her brother and loves to be outside. Whenever she is fussy it helps to get some fresh air. She has also lost tons of hair on top of her head. She is going to be bald with the old man ring! O well, she is still a cutie!! Thank Heaven for Bows!!!

Grandma's strawberry pie! Gotta love the messy face.

Mother's Day entertainment. I can't believe we didn't break the thing!!!

Happy Late Birthday Kolsen!!!

My baby a few weeks old

My baby at 1 years old

My big boy at his 2nd Birthday last week. I can't believe how fast the time goes when you have kids. It is so hard to think that we have already had him for two years. He had a fun little birthday party with our family and got lots of fun gifts from everyone. Even though some of them are being used for weapons (thanks Kim and Cam)!!! Just kidding he loved the golf clubs that you got. They play with them all the time. Thanks you to all those who came! Kolsen had a blast. I am so glad that we have such a good little boy. We are so spoiled to have him.

His "blowing up a balloon" pose.

This is a really cute shirt Heidi made for the boys. It says " Warning I am Two." Which totally fits right now!
